Norovirus outbreaks have been reported in several North Carolina counties, and those reports have generated news media attention for research on the illness being conducted by Dr. Leonard Williams, a lead scientist at A&T’s Center for Excellence in Post Harvest Research.
Norovirus induces a particularly nasty illness, but Williams says one good prevention strategy is very simple: Wash your hands thoroughly.
News14 Carolina and a rather alarmed WSOC-TV in Charlotte both interviewed Williams last week and filed reports on Friday. NorthCarolinaHealthNews.org talked with Dr. Williams as well. Williams and the center are located at the North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis.
