STEM high school to open at N.C. A&T

The Guilford County school system has approved the creation of a STEM-oriented early college on the N.C. A&T campus.  It is scheduled to open next fall.  The school will give students the opportunity to earn up to 60 hours of college credit while going to high school.

The early college at A&T will be the system’s second (the first is at Guilford College).  They serve as intensive college-preparatory programs. N.C. A&T already hosts one of Guilford County’s middle colleges. The system’s middle colleges serve students who may not do well in traditional high schools.

Details are in The Business Journal and a school system news release.
